Two keen Green activists, and exceptional singer/songwriters,
Shannon Smy and Theo Simon, the driving force behind the band
Seize the Day, released their 'It's your life' CD of
sixteen of their political songs back in 1998. Sadly, the songs
are, if anything, needed even more now.
Theo and Shannon's songs will inspire anyone
who cares about environmental issues, health, animal rights, the
arms trade or social justice.
From ‘Motorway Song’ and ‘High
Hills Lament’ (roads), to ‘Designer Kidz’ (genetic
engineering), ‘With my Hammer’ (arms trade) and ‘Bigger,
Brighter, Better’ (consumerism), there is an anthem for most
of today’s critical issues, as well as moving love songs about
family and the Earth such as the excellent ‘Song for Carol’,
‘Change in Me’ and ‘Ship in Distress’.
