Q. Do I need to put a Radiator Booster on top
of every radiator?
A. The more radiators you enhance with a Radiator
Booster the more savings you will make, but the manufacturers
recommend that you only equip rooms that are used most of the
day. After all, you can always unplug a Radiator Booster and move
it into an unequipped room for a special purpose.
Q. My radiator is a long way from the nearest
wall socket.
A. The cable supplied is 1.8 metres/6 feet long.
We sell three metre/ 9’11” extension cables for £5
+ £2 p&p.
Q. Can a Radiator Booster be used with radiator
covers?
A. Yes, providing you can fit it under your cover
and expose the fan end to the open room. Covered radiators trap
much more hot air behind them that uncovered radiators, so your
saving will be even greater.
Q. Can a Radiator Booster be left on permanently?
A. Yes, the built-in thermostat only switches
the Radiator Booster on when it can be effective (when the temperature
of the air by the fan reaches 32oC), then turns it off when the
air temperature falls below that. There is no wasteful stand-by
state.
Q. Can I plug the Radiator Booster into a timer
switch to make even more savings £?
A. Yes
Q. My radiator is very long. Do I need two Radiator
Boosters?
A. You can, but one Radiator Booster should be
enough to suck out all that wasted hot air and create good convection
in the room.
Q. Is there an ideal position on top of the
radiator for a Radiator Booster?
A. Yes, as far to the back and centralised on
the radiator, but placing a Radiator Booster at one end of a radiator
works almost as well. Do not worry if the device drops down behind
the radiator a little. This actually makes it even more effective.
Q. Can I use a Radiator Booster on top of electric
radiators, electric storage heaters or electric convection heaters?
A. No. The surfaces of such heaters reach much
higher temperatures than water-filled radiators and will damage
the device.
Q. Can I use a Radiator Booster in my bathroom,
shower room, sauna room, outbuilding, etc?
A. No. Never use Radiator Boosters in damp or
humid spaces.
Q. Do I need to clean the device?
A. Yes, as with any fan, dust will build up on
various surfaces that can seriously impair its performance and
reliability.Use a lint- free cloth, taking care not to break the
delicate fan blades.
