The Freeplay Foundation Jonta wind up mains-rechargeable torch is the last flashlight you will ever buy. Just 30 seconds cranking the clockwork mechanism delivers approximately 10 minutes in energy saving mode. A fully-charged battery - either by cranking or via the small USB charge point- delivers 2½ hours of ultra bright light, or 12 hours of light in energy-saving mode.

The internal battery powers a state-of-the-art Luxeon Star one-Watt super bright white LED, which burns as brightly as a powerful incandescent bulb at a fraction of the power and has a useful life of approximately 100,000 hours. The excellent beam quality from the Jonta maintains focus at over 50 metres.

A choice between 'energy saving' and 'full power' settings allows the user to prioritise shine time or light brightness. There is a third 'flashing' setting for signalling.

The wind up mechanism is the world's most efficient human energy conversion system. The winder can be cranked in both directions. The harder you crank, the more energy you create. A crank level LED indicates the optimum winding speed, The only limitation as to how much energy you can create is you!

USB charge point
The Jonta is equipped with a small USB charge point so that you may charge it from a computer (cable not supplied). A 6-hour USB charge fully charges the flashlight.
