The potential danger of mobile phones and cell phone dangers were sharply illustrated by Israeli research. The overall cancer rate was just over four times higher in people who had lived within 350 metres of a phone mast for three to seven years, compared to the rate found overall in people living in the nearby town of Netanya (Israel).

The danger of mobile phones to women was most striking. Those living near the mast had developed a more than tenfold risk.
