Six reasons to drink organic milk

Back to newsletter contents

  • Organic milk is higher in vitamin E, beta-carotene (which the body converts into vitamin A) and certain other antioxidants than non-organic milk
  • Organic milk comes from cows that graze on pastures which are not sprayed with synthetic chemical pesticides. Unlike many non-organic cows, they are only given antibiotics when actually ill and natural remedies have not worked
  • Unlike most non-organic cows, organic cows are not allowed to be given GM cattle feed
  • Organic milk is produced in a way which we believe is kind to animals. Happy, comfortable and contented cows are the aim of all organic farmers
ä Organic milk is produced using farming methods which support wildlife on farmlands
  • A recent study[1] also found that organic milk is 68% higher in omega-3 fatty acids and has a higher proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids than non-organic milk
