The heating and air conditioning systems of cars are efficient
concentrators of air pollution, accumulating toxic pesticides
inside the car. The toxic chemicals are transferred by the passengers
into the home.
So reported researchers from the University of California - Berkeley, who analysed
dust taken from inside cars and the owners’ houses during
the summer months, a period of above average pesticide use.
They recommended that cars should be considered a significant
source of child exposure to pesticides in the home environment.
