Radioactive metals recycled into food cans
British Nuclear Fuels are treating and recycling radioactive metals
and selling them to the food and drinks industries to make cans
- with the Environment Agency’s blessing. More than 700
tonnes of radioactive metals have already gone on to the open
market. They are treated with acid to reduce their level of radioactivity
to supposedly 'safe release levels'.
