French soldiers "did not get Gulf War syndrome"
The US Congress Committee investigating Gulf War Syndrome discovered that none of the French troops taking part in the coalition forces reported developing the illness. No vaccines or protective drugs were forced on French soldiers. Only protective suits were supplied against a possible biological attack.

Only 140 of the 25,000 French troops in the Gulf War reported any war-related illness (0.5%), compared to over 5,000 (10%) UK troops and 137,862 (19%) of US troops.
