Vitamin D and calcium reduced risk of fracture

  • Women aged 60 and over who had been given daily supplements of 1,000mg of calcium and 400iu of vitamin D3 a day, their risk of fracture had been reduced by 21%
  • Those who had taken these supplements regularly had reduced their risk by 29%

These findings were drawn from new analyses of the Women’s Health Initiative Study [1].
